Right angled circuit

Another train track layout using only the Lillabo set from Ikea. This is quite spacious, allowing a little child to sit in the middle and spin around as they make the trains go around the circuit.

Parallelogram track layout

Posted by phil at 10:41 pm 0 comments
This track layout is a large loop that slightly resembles a parallelogram, in that it has two parallel sections, and two slightly angled sections. If you had something  to prop up part of the track, you could mix the ascending/descending part of the track with one of the straight sections as an alternative layout.

L shaped circuit

This is one of the larger track layouts possible with just the Lillabo train track set from Ikea. For variety, you could alternate the ascending/descending track pieces with one of the straight sections in order to have an extended section of the track be elevated (you would need to prop up the elevated section of the track with something obviously).

Figure eight train track

This is a simple figure eight track layout which was made from a limited selection of track pieces bought from the Ikea wooden train track starter set. It is one of the more interesting layouts as the track is able to overlap.

Ikea Lillabo starter train set

Posted by phil at 9:18 pm 0 comments
Ikea sell a basic starter train kit that contains a variety of track pieces which can be used to create a few unique track layouts. It also comes with a train set to begin playing with the tracks straight away. This blog will contain a few example layouts that are possible with just the pieces in this set, as well as more complex layouts achieved by combining this set with the other booster sets available from Ikea.
